Grant McCann has revealed the fate of the three transfer-listed players: Liam Mandeville, Mitchell Lund and Tyler Garratt.

Straight after Rovers’ final game of the season, 0-1 defeat to Wigan, Darren Ferguson announced Liam Mandeville, Mitchell Lund and Tyler Garratt had been transfer-listed.

Since then, Ferguson has resigned and Rovers have a new manager in Grant McCann who seems to be willing to the trio a chance – but never said anything too concrete.

He said: “It’s a difficult situation for me to walk into a football club with three players on the transfer-list.

“I had brief chats with Liam, Tyler and Mitchell this morning, I spoke to them about last year and asked them why they’re on the transfer and why a couple of them had loan spells so I got honest opinions off them.

“I told them that looking at some of the positions they play in – can you force your way past the people who are in your positions?

“I would say if coming up into the season and they are performing then they have a chance.”

Judging by photos posted on the official Doncaster Rovers website, all three players have been training with the first-team since the start of pre-season training this week.
