After helping to guide league two’s, Crewe Alexandra to a 17th place finish last season, Alex Kiwomya joins Doncaster Rovers on a permanent deal.
In the season just gone by, while on loan at Crewe Alexandra, Kiwomya scored 7 goals in 26 appearences. However, it needs to be considered that he wasn’t playing as an all out striker at times for Crewe. He did rotate between a winger and a center attacking midfielder.
In a press conference today, Kiwomya did confirm Ferguson tried signing him last season, but due to him being on loan at Crewe, it did make it difficult. He also stated that former Doncaster Rovers loanee from Chelsea (which was Kiwomya’s parent club), helped him decided to move back up north.
With this deal being a permanent one – although it was believed to be a loan in the early stages – it means that transfer-listed forward, Andy Williams could be about to leave.
Kiwomya joins Niall Mason and Danny Andrew through the door’s of the Keepmoat after signing a three-year deal with the club. It is expected that there will be another signing very soon of a young premier league defender. Whether or not that is a loan or permanent deal, we’ll have to wait and see.
