‘A trialist’ caught the eyes of many supporters on Wednesday night against Newcastle United at the Keepmoat Stadium.
It was later reported that the youngster is Blair Yule, a 23 year old, who notably is a versatile player, and can rotate between midfielder and defencive position (however prefers midfield).
Yule hasn’t hidden his desire to go professional, as he has stated in previous interviews he’d, ‘love to go professional’.
Also, Tadcaster Albion F.C. striker, Alfie Beestin, has also been on trial with Yule, and now that Stuckmann has left the club it could free up some money to be able to buy the pair, or will Ferguson have to choose between the two?
With Ferguson giving Yule game time in a friendly it could indicate he prefers what he see’s in Yule more than Beestin, but only time will tell.
It is also reported that Doncaster are now interested in signing Paul Green, but they have competition for his signature from league one clubs – but Rovers may have the upper advantage with the midfielder attending Doncasters’ open day yesterday, and also buying Doncaster Rovers kits for his children; so it’s now down to the former Rovers midfielder to make his decision.
